LIGHT
DESIGN

Light design to me means creating light that meets the requests and criteria of the customer, but is still as attractive and energy-saving as possible.

To make a good light design, a great network of contacts is required, but also, and just as importantly, experience is extremely valuable. Because working with light is a kittle trade since it is very hard imagining what the final result will look like. Often, a full-scale test run is needed and in many cases this is the most beneficial way to go about it since it enables the customer to really see and understand the final product they've commissioned.

I work with light design for theatre and dance performances, as well as for private and public spaces, indoors and outdoors alike. I have also been involved in creating light designs for exhibitions of various sizes, and health care environments.

Stråket (The Swath of Light) -
temporary light setting in park and city environment during Handball World Championship in Lund 2011. The purpose was to, with light, create a intelligible and beautiful path for pedestrians and bikers from Lund Central Station, running through Stadsparken up to the Färs och Frosta Sparbank Arena where the games were played. Spotlights were placed in trees, illuminating stems and canopies as well as the ground below. Along Nygatan, the regular streetlights were exchanged to lights in the colours of the Championship.
The project was developed in co-operation with Gunilla Svensson Arkitektkontor AB through landscape designer Sara Fridh, and park supervisor Lars Brobeck of Lund city council.

Blommandeljus (Light in blossom) -
temporary light artwork in Stadsparken, a park in central Lund, lasting from February through March 2011. The artwork was inspired by the city's annual plants and flower project, and it focuses on Stadsparken's 100th anniversary.
Coloured light is filtrated through the crowns of trees and is projected down on the ground, allowing the audience to pass through and linger in the warmly flaunting flowerbeds of light, even during these dark time of the year. It is an opportunity to devour spring in advance. The visitors stroll, run and bike among the flowerbeds painted on the ground by artificial light.
With different methods of light setting, large fields of colour are created where dollops of other colours simulates flowers with petals and pistils. The spectra covers mainly warm nuances of red, pink and orange, with streaks of amaranth, blue, violet and yellow.
The project was developed in co-operation with Gunilla Svensson Arkitektkontor AB through landscape designer Sara Fridh, and park supervisor Lars Brobeck of Lund city council.

A Universe at European job days 2009 in Malmö and Helsingborg

Pictures from European job days 2009 in Malmö in the concert hall foyer and at the job centre in Helsingborg, where I displayed my work A Universe, which worked out successfully.  Customers and staff members had the opportunity to walk, relax and rest in the art work during those stressful days.
