Light has several dimensions. By projecting sequences of film instead
of spotlights, you can create a screen within the illumination.
The sequences consist of different kinds of light filmed on video.
This material is then cut and edited to fit the particular event
or show it is intended for, and the final product is something I
decided to call a ‘moving light picture’.
A few examples can be seen below.
All movies are in Quicktime format. You can use the free software
VLC to view them.

| Sus (“Sough”) |
In 2006 I was invited to take part in Malmö Gallery Night
with an installation and the work I submitted was a light- and sound
installation called Sus (“Sough”). My intention was to
create a calming, natural atmosphere on this usually very busy spot
in central Malmö.

| Fotografiska skisser (”Photgraphical
sketches”) |
Persuaded by a colleague, I put on an exhibition at Gallery Rostrum’s
Art after work 2006, consisting of a selection from my large photographical
sketch archive.

| Dygnet (“The Day”) |
The light artwork Dygnet (“The Day”) on show at gallery
Skånes Konst was a further development of my “Artificial
Sunset”, originally created for Ann Sidén’s project “Mamma
Knota” 2003, Örebro. The idea was to display the variations
of light during the 24 hours of the day and make the audience experience
these changes, compressed to a 13 minute long light show.

| Signal (“Signal”) |
My moving light picture “Signal” is light from the
lighthouse at Kullen recorded on film. This is a part of my own project “To
communicate with light”, where I collect the light from a selection
of lighthouses and beacons in Sweden, then cut and edit the material
to create a moving light picture.
“Signal” was created for the exhibition “Fotografi
i fokus” (“Focus on photography”), Malmö 2007.
It was used to create a room of light in the middle of one of the
patios at Hedmanska Gården during the opening night of the
exhibition. This is a short clip from the movie.

| Ett universum (A universe) |
”Ett universum” (”A universe”) was my
first moving light picture. It was shown at Gallery G in Lund in
2005, using two projectors to fill the small exhibition hall with
moving light on film. The movie also had a soundtrack to create a
sense of total focus in the room. This is a clip from the movie

| Mamma Knota återvinner
tid (Mamma Knota recycles time) – Dygnet (The Day) |
During her project ”Mamma Knota”, Ann Sidén
asked me to make a light installation for her exhibition at Gallery
ID:I in Stockholm. I created “The Day” as part of “Mamma
Knota recycles time”, where the complete journey of the sun
is experienced in approximately 10 minutes. Here is a sample of the
different lightings at the vernissage in January, 2004. Photo by
Ann Rosén.

| Tomelillasjälar (Tomelilla
Souls) |
Along with two other artists, Carin Person and Fredrik Weerasinghe,
I was asked to make light installations for public spaces in Tomelilla.
Altogether there were six pieces, two by each artist, displayed during
November 2007. One of my creations was an artwork called Tomelilla
Souls; A movie made from film clips of the eyes of a large variety
of Tomelilla residents. The movie was projected on an island covered
by trees, set in a small lake in a local park by Välaområdet.

| Intern |
I am currently working on a collaboration with the dance group
Sardine Sauvage, in particular with the dancer and choreographer
Melanie Koller. We strive to develop and take the partnership between
my light art and their dance performances further. When they performed
at the annual dance project Chicken Soup at Inkonst in Malmö,
my light artwork set the backdrop – forming the combined artwork
Intern. The moving light picture that was shown at the performance
can be viewed I full here.
